"One of my new favourite spots in Paris", sous le theatre des Champs-Elysees, avenue Montaigne.

Around the corner from the Louvre, Le Nolinksi is the first Parisian hotel - following the Hameau de la Volière in Courchevel - of the Evok Hôtels Collection.

French Interior Designer Jean-Louis Deniot brilliantly transformed the Haussmannian building, which formerly housed offices, into a Gulf-style luxury hotel with Parisian scale and a twinkle of 30s South Floridian Art Deco. Features like a magnificent green Carrara marble reception counter, celestial cloud frescoes swirling up through the six-storey staircase, and bolts of unexpected colour on each floor, bring a stylish kooky edge.

San Francisco’s newest boutique property Hotel Zeppelin brings together the city’s varied characteristics under one roof.

The  ground-level hangout is intimate with restored brick walls, cornice trims, and hand-troweled holdings.  Seattle-based Dawson Design Associates suspended a dramatic overhead cage lined with gin bottles in the lobby café/bar.

The hotel has 196 rooms and suites featuring soaring ceilings, industrial light fixtures, and crushed velvet pillows. All the rooms are exercises in contrast which is to say, eclectically San Francisco: a retro record player along with a USB-equipped nightstand, a comfy hoodie-inspired bathrobe hanging next to a sexy, dark-green wall, 60’s-inspired psychedelic lamp next to a contemporary metal chair.

Pharmacie 2, a new restaurant designed by Damien Hirst and Mark just opened at Hirst’s Newport Street Gallery in Vauxhall. Caruso St John Architects created the striking marble flooring, which features 21 large marble pills – made using 35 types of coloured marble by Italian firm Margraf– inlaid into the white marble base-, as well as pill-shaped bar stools, a medicine cabinet feature wall and a neon ‘Prescriptions’ sign. Hirst’s Kaleidoscope paintings are also displayed in the restaurant.

Maximalism is taking the interior design world by storm and now fans of the flamboyant have a new must-visit destination in London. Sicis, the Italian mosaic company famous for its artistic mosaics, has opened a new 5,500-square-foot flagship store on Dover Street, in the heart of Mayfair.

This temple to luxury will showcase the brand’s mosaics alongside its cutting-edge furniture and artworks. It’s also only the third boutique in the world to sell Sicis’s exclusive range of watches and high-end jewellery, which make use of the brand’s high-tech mosaic techniques. The first collection of fabrics recreating the maison’s most iconic patterns will be launched here, too.

Decorated in sumptuous style, with gold mosaic walls and a whole lower level dedicated to spa style, the shop is a must-visit for any interior designs fans looking for a dose of glamour and escapism.
